The Lodge is a low secure environment which focuses on the assessment and treatment of adults, both male and female, diagnosed with complex psychiatric illnesses. These may include illicit drug and alcohol dependencies that are difficult to treat in an open environment.
Most of our patients are admitted while sectioned under the Mental Health Act; however we do admit patients for assessment and treatment who are under the jurisdiction of the Home Office.
The Lodge was designed and built in 2005 and has been given an award for conservation and improvement of the countryside. The unit has 14 bedrooms with en-suite bathroom facilities, an open plan patient lounge as well as an enclosed quiet lounge, a dining room, clinical facilities and a secure garden which is located in the centre of this oval building. Patients with Section 17 leave have access to all the activities and facilities on the Cawston Park site.
All the patients at Cawston Park are encouraged to be involved in their care and treatment. On admission the patient is allocated a Consultant Psychiatrist and Named Nurse who are part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team the patient has access to throughout their stay.
