Psychosocial Department

George Mak-Pearce is the head of this department under the leadership of the Clinical Services Director. This department coordinates the growing number of services available to our service users; these are grouped as Psychological Therapies, Social Work and Occupational Therapies.

We have recently introduced a more structured daily routine where each patient has an agreed timetable for the week. This timetable is discussed and agreed with the patient in the Multi-Disciplinary Team.

Cawston Park puts emphasis on the value of the larger group as an important resource, each unit has regular daily community meetings where patients are encouraged to question, explore and suggest solutions to problems they are experiencing in the group. Our experience is that this fosters a warmer therapeutic setting and more secure attachments.
