Post Title: Kitchen Porter
Report To: Primarily Facilities Manager. Day to Day: Chef on duty
Responsible For: Nil

Job Purpose Summary:
The post holder will be expected to assist the Catering team in meeting the daily commitments within the catering department whilst providing support in maintaining the standards of operation and cleanliness. The post holder will also be responsible for delivering food and refreshments to the Hospitals in line with Company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- To assist the Catering department as required.
- To undertake the Basic Foundation Food Hygiene Course.
- To assist in transporting food to the Hospital on a daily basis by means of the Company van.
- To maintain cleaning standards within the kitchen, wash up and dining areas at all times.
- To help prepare salad ingredients & vegetables and other basic tasks to the Chefs specifications.
- To maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and food storage area and wash up area at all times, in accordance with the appropriate food hygiene regulations.
- To implement safe working procedures and practices in accordance with health and safety legislation.
- To assist in the monitoring and recording of refrigeration, chillers and freezer temperatures and the completion of cleaning records in accordance with Environmental Health requirements.
- To ensure timely and efficient cleaning of all dishes and cooking utensils.
- To actively participate in staff appraisal.
- Liaising with the Health and Safety Representative/Staff Communication Representative for the department as necessary.
- To work in accordance with the Company's time and attendance procedure to include the submission of timesheets within the specified timeframe.
- Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures.
- To ensure all duties are undertaken in line with the company confidentiality policy, ensuring the residents personal details, dignity and situation are considered at all times.
- Any other duties as requested by the Senior Managers or Company Directors.
